DHAKA: Bangladesh got an approval from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to open internet domains with .bangla (dot bangle).

ICANN is a non-profit organization responsible for the global coordination of the Internet’s unique identifier.

Posts and telecommunication division public relations officer Enayet Hossain confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Henceforth Bangladesh could open sites with .bangla like .bd or .com, he added.
