DHAKA: The next summit of World Information Technology and Services Alliances (WITSA) will be held in Bangladesh in 2021.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard was signed on Saturday (November 19) at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) building where ICT state Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and WITSA chairman Yvonne Chiu were present.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the IT association consisting of 80 countries has been playing a key role in the development of IT sector worldwide.
Public-private organizations and ICT personalities from member countries participate in the summit where member state can exchange their experiences and technologies.
The association appreciated the government’s initiatives of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ and ‘Vision-2021’ and agreed to arrange the WITSA congress-2021 in Bangladesh.
WITSA chairman Yvonne Chiu said Bangladesh is passing a great time as it gained success in ICT sector within short time of period. WITSA has come forward to speed up its activities.
However, the summit held every two years and this year it was held in Sao PauLo city of Brazil this year.
