Bangladesh now on 4G expressway Mobile operators receiving 4G licenses from ICt minister Mustafa Jabbar

DHAKA: Bangladesh has started its journey in the fastest digital connectivity world with the launching of fourth-generation (4G) mobile internet on Monday (February 19).

Mobile phone operators- Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink and state-run Teletalk- have received 4G licenses from Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) at a program in Dhaka Club in the evening. 

Following the license handover, Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink launched 4G services to their customers in major cities.

Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar handed over the licences to the chief executive officers (CEOs) of the three mobile operators.
 
4G service will enhance customers' daily life and improve the service quality of trade and business, said the mobile operators. 

Earlier, Grameenphone and Banglalink acquired a total of 15.6Mhz 4G spectrum in the auction held at Dhaka Club on February 13.
