DHAKA: With the slogan - Designing the Future, BASIS SoftExpo 2018 is set to kick off on Thursday (February 22) at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).
The 4-day event will be a congregation of ICT companies, personalities, key policy makers, industry leaders and other ICT stakeholders.
BASIS SoftExpo is the annual mega exposition and the largest showcase of IT and ITES products and services in the private sector of Bangladesh. This year more than 200 national and international IT companies will be showcasing their product and services in this mega exposition of Bangladesh.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will inaugurate the program as chief guest while Post, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar will be present as special guest.
BASIS SoftExpo 2018 has been divided in 4 individual zones. This mega software exposition is divided in 4 zones. Software Showcasing Zone, Mobile Innovation Zone, Digital Commerce Zone, ITES & BPO Zone.
Besides, B-2- B matchmaking session would be a unique opportunity for Software and ITES companies. There will be innovation zone where students will showcase their innovative projects like artificial intelligent robot BongoBir and Bangro.
BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir has expressed his hopes regarding SoftExpo - 2018. He said BASIS SoftExpo will help the local
IT companies expand their business. 200 exhibitors will participate this year. SoftExpo is the platform to showcase the capability of local software companies in international arena.
Convener of BASIS SoftExpo 2018 Mosatafizur Rahaman Sohel said through this exposition local ICT companies can showcase their products in the international arena. Apart from showcasing their innovative projects, BASIS Students Forum members can get a clear understanding of Bangladesh’s ever growing ICT sector.
The expo has 4 Specialized Zones like Software Showcasing Zone, Mobile Innovation Zone, Digital Commerce Zone and ITES & BPO Zone. More than 180 national and international exhibitors are going to showcase their product and services at the expo.
To demonstrate capability of local software market along with its challenges and solutions more than 30 seminar and sessions has been arranged. The key speakers from MIT, Google and Facebook are going to speak in different session at the expo.
More than 100 speakers from home and abroad will address on cutting edge technology like AI, IOT, Machine Learning and Virtual Reality. Due to huge attraction on Artificial Intelligence, Robot Bangro and BongoBir are going to be displayed at the expo.
Besides there will be some other sessions for the young IT professionals like IT Career conference, Developer conference and Job Fair.
Another Special arrangement is the B-2- B Matchmaking Session, where number of European companies will participate to make the session a fruitful one for the industry development. Organizers are expecting a huge success of the expo.
