DHAKA: Bangladesh has become the top destination country for increasing demand of outsourcing worldwide, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ICT Adviser also her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
Joy, as the chief guest, was addressing the inauguration program of two-day long Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Summit 2018 at a city hotel Sunday (April 15).
“BPO requires electricity and broadband. We have ensured both. Internet expense was 1,000 US dollars 10 years ago. This is now available at hand. The youths can earn money sitting at homes. Which was beyond imagination 10 years ago,” he said.
“Training for outsourcing is being offered in rural level. We have ensured employment of 7 lakhs of youths”
We will become a developed country by 2041. (We) already have become the global leader, added Joy.
The ICT ministry has established ICT labs in 129 universities of the country. ICT studies is being included (in the curriculum) since primary school level, he added.
However, Telecom and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar, State Minister for ICT ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, President of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Imran Ahmed MP, President of Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) Wahidur Rahman Sharif were among others address the program.
