MYMENSINGH: Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that the government will provide internet through fiber optical cable in each union parishads of the country, from this year. 

“The ‘agricultural Bangladesh’ has now turned into ‘Digital Bangladesh’. Fiber optical cable is being installed in every unions of the country, in a bid to enhance the internet facility in each village of Bangladesh,” said the minister.

“The project will be implanted this year,” he added.

The minister was addressing a program at the ‘Gahi Samyer Gaan’ stage of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal of Mymensingh Saturday (July 7). 

The minister further said that the government has a plan to set up computer labs in each educational institutes of the country within a year.

World’s top high profile robotic computer lab will be set up in JKKNIU, he added.

However, JKKNIU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AHM Mostafizur Rahman chaired the program.
