RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY: Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami went on strike in Rajshahi University on Thursday demanding the detention of attackers of Shibir leader Rasel Alam. 

Sources said that three hand bombs were blasted in the campus in morning which spread out panic here. 

Additional police forces along with armed convoy were deployed at various key points of the district town to avoid subversive activities. 

On the other hand, no rally or activities of Shibir were seen on the campus from morning. 

University Proctor Professor Tarikul Hasan said, “No one will be allowed to conduct subversive acts. All types of steps were taken to ensure everything normal.”

Motihar Thana Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Hossain said that police were kept alert to avert untoward situations.

On June 16, Shibir leader Rasel Alam was injured in an attack allegedly by Chhatra League activists.

Later, Shibir declared 4-day program from June 22 demanding the arrest of the accused.
