MYMENSINGH: Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) has organized a three-day program from May 25 to celebrate 116th birth anniversary of the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on its campus in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh.

University sources said a discussion will be held in university’s ‘Gahi Samyer Gaan’ stage where public administration ministry’s senior secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury will be present as chief guest.

JKKNIU vice-chancellor will chair the program, sources added.

On the second day on May 26, information minister Hasanul Haq Inu will be present as chief guest in the discussion, to be attended by renowned Nazrul researcher professor Jatin Sarkar as special guest.

On the concluding day, Bangladesh University Grants Commission chairman Professor Abdul Mannan will attend the event as chief guest.

The university authorities, on the occasion, will honor prominent Nazrul researcher and national professor Dr Mustafa Nurul Islam and Nazrul singer Fatema Tuz Zohra.

The 3-day cultural program will also be organized on the stage, sources added.
