JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: Professor Dr Monirul Hasan Khan of Jahangirnagar University’s (JU) zoology department was honored with Bangabandhu Award for his outstanding contribution in conservation of wildlife.

Environment and forest ministry will hand over the award soon.

Earlier on June 1, the government in a gazette notification mentioned Dr Monirul Hasan Khan’s name as an awardee for 2015.

Meanwhile, JU vice-chancellor Dr Farzana Islam congratulated Dr Monir for his achievement.

However, Dr Monir joined JU zoology department in 2005.

He also earned several awards, including Zoological Society of London Award and Future Conservationist Award.
