DHAKA: A half-day inception workshop on ‘Establishment of IQAC at Dhaka International University (DIU)’, organized by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), DIU was held at Dr MI Patwari auditorium of its Green Road campus on Thursday.

In the inaugural ceremony, Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Head, Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) was present as chief guest while Professor Dr Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist, QAU, UGC; Muhammad Asahabur Rahman, Consultant, Education Global Practice, World Bank and Dr SQ Patwari, Chairman, BoT, DIU were present as special guests.

Treasurer, deans, chairman from different departments, members of QAC committee and members of SA committee were also present in the occasion, said a press release.

Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed and Professor Dr Sanjoy K Adhikary presented their keynote presentations on QA issues.

Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed in his speech stressed that faculty members of DIU should work together to institutionalize the quality culture in higher education.

Professor Dr KM Mohsin, Vice-Chancellor, DIU presided over the workshop and spoke on the importance of Self Assessment and Quality Assurance in higher education.

The workshop focused on Self Assessment at program level for developing quality culture in education and teaching learning process.

Associate Professor Dr Serajul Islam Prodhan, Director, IQAC gave welcome speech at the beginning of the workshop while Assistant Professor RaisuL Islam Sourav, Additional Director, IQAC, DIU emceed the workshop.
