DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Teachers of public universities announced two-day abstention from works on September 13 and 17 as protest of their status and salary in 8th national pay scale.

However, examinations on the dates will be purview of the abstention.

Bangladesh University Teachers Association Federation president Professor Dr Farid Uddin Ahmed informed banglanews Thursday afternoon.

He said that a Dhaka University Teachers Association in a federation meeting held on Thursday made the decision of abstention on September 13 and 17 keeping examinations purview of the program.

But the classes will not be held on the days, he added.

Earlier on Tuesday (September 8), the teachers of 37 public universities staged a full-day work abstention.
