Primary teachers’ agitation postponed

DHAKA: Bangladesh Primary Teachers’ Association postponed their agitation programme till October 20.

The association came up with the announcement in a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city on Tuesday.

In the press meet, the leaders of the association said they postponed their protest till October 20 as public administration affairs advisor to premier HT Imam assured to consider their demand.

General Secretary of the association M Anwarul Haque Tota categorically said: “We will continue protest by announcing fresh programes if the government fails to meet our demand.”

The primary school teachers were protesting to press home their demand of a second class dignity to Headmasters, pay scale for assistant teachers and to ease promotion difficulties.
