DHAKA: The Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Dhaka (DU) is celebrating it's 70th founding anniversary amid huge festivity.

To mark the day, hundreds of students, led by DU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman bought out a colourful rally, starting from the premises of Faculty of Fine Arts, paraded TSC and then ended at the faculty.

VC Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the day long program, by placing wreaths to the grave of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin and releasing balloons. 

The program includes cultural function, group musical soiree and screening documentary.

To mark Zainul Fest and Fine Arts’ 70th founding anniversary, the annual exhibition of the faculty displays artworks by teachers and students of the department for visitors in two parts.

Artworks by teachers-artists have been displayed on December 10-20 while award-winning artworks by the students of all the departments of the faculty are being displayed from December 23. It will continue till December 29.

Professor Dr. Susan Collins, director of the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and renowned artist Monirul Islam will be awarded with Zainul Samannona at a programme at Bakultola on December 29.
