Health Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has stressed the need for improved health services at the marginal level to reduce pressure on the city hospitals.
He said, “The main goal is to improve health services at the marginal level. If health services can be improved at the marginal level, the patient pressure in the city will be reduced. I visited many upazila health complexes and district hospitals in Bangladesh. I saw the condition of the health system there.”
He made the statement while talking to the journalists after visiting the Sri Sri Lokenath Brahmachari Ashram, a great saint of the Hindu community, located in Baradi, Sonargaon, Narayanganj, on Friday.
He also said, I have been against corruption in my life and still sticking to the morale. No irregularities, corruption, or negligence will be tolerated in the health sector. Any patient death due to doctor's negligence will be investigated and action taken accordingly.”
The health minister said that there is a plan to open a burn unit in the Narayanganj hospital.
“There are plans to place burn units in every district nationwide. Corona is not over yet from Bangladesh or the world. Wear a mask regularly,” he added.
