51 medicines’ registration cancelled

DHAKA: Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has canceled the registration of 51 medicines and drugs produced by several companies, including Renata, Square Pharmaceuticals, Opsonin and Ibn Sina.

Production, purchase, sale, distribution, storage and display of 51 medicines of Paracetamol, Pioglitazone and Rosiglitazone groups have been prohibited.

People are requested not to buy and take these drugs.

DGDA Director General Major General Mostafijur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Major General M Saiful Rahman said Drug Control Committee has canceled registration of the medicines in its 244th meeting.

Companies concerned have been instructed to withdraw the drugs from the market through its own channels and inform the DGDA of their amounts.
