DHAKA: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon went Singapore to learn about combating communicable diseases including aedes mosquito-borne dengue.

DSCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mostafizur Rahman and Chief Health Officer Brig Gen Sharif Ahmed accompanying the mayor left here for Singapore Sunday (September 8) night, said DSCC Public Relations Officer (PRO).

DSCC is planning to launch a department named 'Communicable Disease Control & Research Department' as part of a five years' plan to prevent various communicable diseases.

The mayor-led team went Singapore to know ideas and activities of Singapore government on operating such initiative.  

They are expected to return home by week end.
