DHAKA: Bangladesh on Wednesday (June 24) reported 37 more deaths from coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 1,582, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Besides, 3,462 people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 1,22,660.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of DGHS, came up with the information in an online regular health bulletin about the latest corona situation in the country.

As 1,231 patients recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recovery reached 48,866, she also said.

In the last 24 hours, 66 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 16,433 samples, Dr Nasima Sultana added.

Bangladesh reported its first croronaviurs case on March 8 while first death on March 18.
