India reported 7,145 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marginally lower than yesterday's 7,447 infections, according to the health ministry. Besides, 289 related deaths were also recorded.

The active cases in the country currently stand at 84,565, which account for 0.24% of the total cases. 

With 8,706 recoveries recorded over the 24-hour period, the total recovery count has increased to 3,41,71,471. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.38%. 

The daily positivity rate currently stands at 0.57% and weekly positive rate at 0.62%.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 136.66 crore.
