Dengue: 27 hospitalised, one dies in last 24 hours

The country reported one death and 27 fresh dengue cases in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning (June 21), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

This is the first death of the year from the mosquito-borne viral disease recorded in Dhaka. 

In the 24 hours, 27 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, no dengue patient was admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 106 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while four other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 808 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 697 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
