Polls-time ministers’ oath afternoon

DHAKA: A new cabinet of the polls-time all-party interim government will take oath at the Bangabnaban on Monday to oversee the 10th parliamentary elections in line with the constitution.

President M Abdul Hamid will administer oath to the new ministers of the cabinet in the afternoon.

Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina informed the President over the matter to form the government when she met him at Bangabhaban Sunday evening.

After the meeting between the premier and the president, Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan made the disclosure.

He told journalists that a few number of ministers would be administered oath on the day.

Sources said there would be 20 members in the cabinet. Of them, 15 members will be from the allies of the grand alliance and five posts will be kept vacant.

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader and Information Minister Hasanaul Haque Inu confirmed that they will be in the new cabinet.

They also said that there is no need for them to take oath.

Awami League advisory council member Amir Hossain Amu and Tofail Ahmed were invited to join in the cabinet.

Amir Hossain Amu told banglanews that he was invited to take oath and he would go there.

Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon also was invited to take oath.

Meanwhile, Jatiya Party Presidium Member Rowshan Ershad, GM Quader, Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Secretary General Ruhul Amin Hawlader and Ziauddin Bablu will join in the interim cabinet.

After a closed-door meeting, JP leaders confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday night.
