TANGAIL: A district court Tuesday sentenced seven people, including two siblings, to life term imprisonment for killing a man in 2004.

The convicted are Sahar Ali and his brother Alauddin, Ghatu Mia, Ershad Ali, Hayat Ali, Bablu Mia and Yusuf Ali from Kalihati upazila of the district.

The court also fined the convicts TK 20,000 each, in default, to suffer six months more in jail.

A per the case statement, Tamej Uddin of Kazibari village in Kalihati upazila, was stabbed to death by some miscreants over previous enmity on April 24, 2004.

Later, police submitted charge sheet against the seven people.

After examining the records and witnesses, Second Additional Sessions Judge Jesmin Ara Begum announced the verdict.
