The High Court (HC) today (April 5) directed the authorities to form a high-level committee to investigate the death of Sultana Jasmine in RAB custody.
The court also ordered to recall the RAB officers and members who were involved in Sultana Jasmine's detention and take departmental action against them after attaching them to the RAB headquarters.
The HC bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Muhammad Mahbub Ul Islam passed the order on Wednesday (April 5) after hearing a writ petition seeking directions for the formation of a probe committee.
The probe committee has been ordered to submit the report before the court in 60 days.
Different rights organisations expressed anger and grave concern at the death of Jasmine in RAB custody on March 24.
The High Court also ordered officials to submit the post-mortem examination report on Jasmine who died in the custody of the RAB in Nagaon.
Jasmine was an office assistant at the land office in Chandipur union under the Sadar Upazila.
