The massive fire at Bangabazar Market was finally doused on Friday morning, more than 75 hours after it broke out early Tuesday (April 4).
Shahjahan Shikder, officer-in-charge of the media wing of Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the matter.
The fire was doused around 9:30am today, he added.
The fire originated around 6:10am on April 4 at Adarsha Market of Bangabazar Shopping Complex, burning several thousand shops to ashes.
Earlier ion Thursday, a case was filed against 250 to 300 unidentified people for attacking and obstructing the police during the fire in the capital's Bangabazar.
Besides, a Dhaka court on Thursday granted a one-day remand to each of the three accused in a case over the attack on police and obstruction of the government work during the capital's Bangabazar market fire.
