Offices, banks resume after Eid vacation

The government offices, banks, courts and financial institutions resumed on Monday (April 24) after a five-day holidays for the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Officials and employees, who left the capital, Dhaka, to celebrate the festival at their village homes with near and dear ones, are started arriving the capital to join their respective workplaces.

The offices started at 9:00am and will end at 4:00pm, while the clients will be able to do banking between 10am-3:30pm.

Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated across the country with due religious fervor and festivity on April 22.

This year, the government employees got six-day holiday at a stretch as the government extended the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday by one more day with April 20 as the public holiday after the holy Shab-e-Qadr holiday on April 19.
