People from all walks of life will pay tributes to Pankaj Bhattacharya, one of the organisers of the Great Liberation War and Oikya NAP President, at Central Shaheed Minar in the capital on Tuesday (April 25).
The body of Pankaj Bhattacharya will be taken to Central Shaheed Minar at 10am.
His body will be kept there till 12 noon for people from all strata to pay their last respect, his family sources said.
Pankaj breathed his last early hours of Monday at Health and Hope hospital in Dhaka. He has been suffering from old age ailments, including breathing complications. He was put on life support on Saturday after his condition deteriorated.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed condolence at the death of Pankaj.
Pankaj was born at Noapara village of Raozan upazila in Chottogram district in 1939.
One of the veteran politicians of Bangladesh, Pankaj Bhattacharya was a leading activist and organizer of all democratic movements in Bangladesh starting from the 1962 Education Movement, the Liberation War and the subsequent struggles.
