A Man was arrested for allegedly killing his seven-year-old stepson in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj.
Meanwhile, Arif Hossain, 28, was arrested following the murder of Abdullah Ahad.
According to the victim's mother Swapna Akter, "Arif often assaulted me and my son without any reason. He beat my son on Monday. I tried to stop him, but failed. He attacked me too. He even didn't allow me to take my son to a hospital."
When Abdullah's physical condition started deteriorating on Tuesday night, Swapna took him to the Institute of Child and Mother Health, said the family.
Later, Abdullah was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as per doctor's advice, but he died there, said the victim's uncle Munna.
Siddhirganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Mostafa confirmed the matter on Wednesday (April 26).
Arif who was arrested following a murder case filed by Swapna Akter yesterday morning will be sent to Narayanganj court, he said.
Swapna married Arif two months ago after being divorced from her previous husband.
She used to live in a rented house at Azibpur Baganbari with his son and husband Arif.
