Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a mini truck in Hat Chakgouri area of Mahadevpur upazila in Naogaon.

However, according to locals, a total of three people were killed in this incident.

The accident took place on the Naogaon-Rajshahi highway on Thursday (April 27) afternoon.

The deceased were identified as pickup driver Harun Mandal, 26, son of Samser Mandal of Jaipur village in Khajur union of Mahadevpur upazila and Mujibur Rahman, 60, of Adamdighi upazila of Bogra.

Naogaon Additional Superintendent of Police Gaziur Rahman confirming the matter said, "A Rajshahi bound passenger bus collided head-on with a Naogaon bound mini truck on the way this afternoon".

Haroon died on the spot, and 16 people were injured, he said, adding Mujibur Rahman died on the way to Naogaon General Hospital.
