The body of a missing girl was recovered from Shitalakshya River at Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj district on Friday (April 28) morning.

The deceased Osana, 12, was the daughter of Abu Saeed, a resident of Perab area under Sonargaon upazila.

According to police sources the girl went missing on Wednesday. Later, local people spotted the girl floating in the river in the morning and informed police.

Being informed, Fire service as well as rescue team recovered the body of the girl from Sluice Gate Ghat of the river in Porab area around 8 am, said police sources.

Rupganj Police Station officer-in-charge AFM Syed confirming the matter said a case was filed with the police station in this connection.

The police arrested four people including the driver of the bulkhead in this incident after the deceased's father filed a case at Rupganj police station, he added.
