At least 21 workers of a factory sustained burn injuries in a gas line explosion due to leakage in Jarun area under Kashimpur police station of Gazipur. 

The incident took place on Monday (May 1) morning at Mandal Group's cotton BD factory.

However, the victims could not be identified immediately.

According to the police, fire service and local sources, the factory caught fire following an explosion from a gas line leakage. Later, the fire was extinguished by the factory management.

Meanwhile, the injured workers were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and Sheikh Hasina Burn Institute, said sources.

DMCH police outpost inspector Bachchu Mia confirming the matter said the conditions of the victims are not serious.
