At least 20 houses were gutted in a fire at the Tulatali slum in Rajakhali area of Chattogram city on Monday (May 1) at 10.30 am.

Deputy Assistant Director of Chattogram region Fire Service, Md. Abdullah confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said being informed, seven units of firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within an hour with the help of locals.

The extent of the damage and the cause of the fire couldn’t be known immediately, the officials said.
