Three people including a woman were killed in separate road accidents in Pabna.

The woman who died in the accident was identified as Mitu Khatun, a second year college student.

According to information, Mitu was hit by a passenger bus of Omar Paribahan while crossing the road on her way home from college in Pushpapara area under Ataikula police station of the district on Tuesday (May 2).

In another incident, two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a three-wheeler at Santhia upazila of Pabna

The deceased were identified as the three-wheeler driver Jewel, 24, and helper Suruj, 20, residents of Samanyapra village of the upazila.

According to police, Jewel and Suruj were going towards Chinakhara riding on their three-wheeler. On the way, a Dhaka-bound bus from Pabna collided head-on with the three-wheeler in Satiakola area of the Dhaka-Pabna highway around 12:20 pm. The duo died on the spot.

Madhpur Highway Police officer-in-charge Nabir Uddin confirmed the matter.

He said the bodies were recovered and sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Legal action was being taken in this regard, the OC added.
