A man and his nephew were killed as a truck ran over a three-wheeler at Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur district on Wednesday (May 3) morning.

The deceased Abul Kalam, 55, and his nephew Ashraful Islam, 27, were residents of Dhupipara area under Parbatipur municipality.

According to locals, they were going towards Bhabanipur by an auto-van from Parbatipur. At that time, a truck coming from Phulbari lost control and ran over the van in Chandapara area around 7 am, leaving them dead on the spot.

Parbatipur Model Police Station SI Dinesh Chandra Barman said the bodies of the victims were recovered and sent to the upazila health complex. 

The driver along with the truck was arrested, the SI added.
