The government on Wednesday (May 3) said that the Digital Security Act (DSA) 2018 would not be suspended but there might be some changes in some sections of the law.
Law minister Anisul Huq was responding to journalists during a programme held marking World Press Freedom Day at the office of Transparency International Bangladesh at Dhanmondi in Dhaka.
The minister, however, admitted that the law was 'misused' and 'abused' at times in the past.
The country might witness the changes in the DSA ‘possibly by September’ in the ongoing year, he said.
Anisul said that the government tried to intervene whenever any misuse of DSA was brought to notice.
