Two motorcyclists were killed in Dinajpur's Parbatipur upazila after being hit by a train on Thursday (May 4) morning.

The accident took place at Rasulpur railway crossing near Barapukuria Coal Mine of the upazila at around 11:30 am.

The deceased were Hamidul Islam, 35, hailed from Ulipur upazila in Kudigram district, and Sushant Roy, 40, from Jaldhaka upazila in Nilphamari district.

According to police and locals, a Khulna-bound train hit the motorcycle of the deceased while they were crossing the rail gate in that area. They died on the spot.

Later, being informed, police recovered the bodies from the spot.

Parbatipur Railway Police Station officer-in-charge Nurul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Legal steps were under process in this regard, he added.
