A 20-member delegation of Rohingyas went to Rakhine state on Friday (May 5) to inspect the current situation.
Refugee relief and repatriation commissioner in Cox’s Bazar Mohammed Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.
He said, ''We started our journey at about 9:15am by boat. We will return by evening.''
Mizanur said that it was important to know the reaction of Rohingya people who were visiting the place.
The Rohingyas will see makeshift camps prepared by the Junta government of their homeland, days before launching a pilot repatriation programme, he added.
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies also joined them to support the delegation.
