Bushra Afreen, the newly appointed Chief Heat Officer (CHO) of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), has been infected with Covid-19.
She has been infected with corona after testing samples on Friday (May 5).
Her cousin Taufiq confirmed the matter.
Bushra Afreen, the daughter of DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam, has been appointed DNCC's first-ever CHO.
She was appointed for the CHO post of DNCC on behalf of the US-based Adrienne Arshot-Rock Feller Foundation Resilience Center (Arshot-Rock).
As CHO, Bushra Afreen will be responsible for leading efforts to make her city safer in the face of extreme heat.
By unifying North Dhaka’s city-wide planning and responses to extreme heat, she will accelerate existing heat awareness and protection efforts, and initiate new work to reduce the risks and impacts of extreme heat for its 15 million residents, particularly its most vulnerable neighborhoods and people.
