Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested two smugglers from Sadar upazila of the district along with around 11 kilograms of silver ornaments on Saturday (May 6) noon.

The arrested were identified as Sarwar Uddin, 28, from Darshana municipality area and Faruk Hossain, 32, from Sultanpur village of the district.

Senior Assistant Police Super Jakia Sultana confirmed the matter.

He said being informed, the police personnel stopped a motorcycle in Golappur Mour area under Sadar upazila today’s noon and recovered the silver-made ornaments after searching the motorcycle.

During the drive, the police team also nabbed motorcycle rider Sarwar Uddin and his co-rider Faruk Hossain in this connection, he added.
