A total of 136 Bangladeshis arrived in Dhaka from troubled Sudan via Jeddah this morning (May 8).
A special flight of Bangladesh Airlines carrying them landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 10:30am.
The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed received them at the airport.
The flight left Jeddah for Dhaka at 1am (Saudi Arabia local time).
Earlier, special flights of the Royal Saudi Air Force carrying the Bangladeshi nationals reached Jeddah on Sunday.
About 1,500 Bangladeshi citizens reside in Sudan. All of those who completed registration to return home, will be brought back to the country in phases. Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah have made all preparations in this regard, said authorities concerned.
