Three motorcycle riders were killed after a truck hit their vehicle at sadar upazila in Gopalganj district early Monday (May 8).

The accident occurred in Sonashur area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 12:30 am.

The deceased were Jami Sheikh, 17, Hasan Sardar, 18, and Tazim Sheikh, 16. All were residents of Chutfa village of the upazila.

Gopalganj Fire Service senior station master SM Ariful Haque confirmed the matter.

He said the three youths were returning to their village riding on a motorcycle from the district town. On the way, a truck coming from the opposite direction hit their bike at Sonashur, leaving Jami Sheikh dead on the spot.

Seriously injured Hasan and Tajim were rescued and admitted to Gopalganj General Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries on Monday morning in Dhaka.
