Mild, moderate heat wave may continue: Met office

The mild to moderate heat wave that is sweeping over the country may continue and spread, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department today (May 8).

According to the Met office bulletin, mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Manikganj, Narayanganj, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Moulvibazar, Chattogram, Rangamati, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali and Bandarban and it may continue and spread.
 
The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country as day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

A low pressure area has formed over Southeast Bay and adjoining South Andaman Sea as it is likely to intensify.

Trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 39.2 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga while the minimum one was 21.2 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The sun sets at 06:31 PM today and rises at 05:19 AM tomorrow in the capital.
