A woman and her daughter were killed while her husband was injured after a pickup van plowed through their house at Dhanbari upazila in Tangail on Tuesday (May 30).

The accident happened at 2am in Nolla Bazar area on the Tangail-Jamalpur regional road when the pickup van lost control over its steering.

Police, however, detained the pickup van driver.

The deceased were Ful Rani, 42, and her daughter Radhika Rani Das, 12.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanbari police station M Jasim Uddin confirmed the matter.

He said late at night, a pickup van lost control over its steering and rammed into a house in Nolla area. The mother and daughter died on the spot while they were sleeping, and the man named Ganesh husband of the deceased was seriously injured. 

The injured Ganesh has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, he added.
