A teenager was arrested after he was caught red-handed raping a 19-year-old speech-impaired girl in Palash of Narshingdi on Wednesday (June 14).

Mohammad Sani, 18, was arrested from Alirtek village in Ghorashal Municipal area. Roni is the son of Solaiman Mia.

According to the family, the victim was alone in the house, At that time Sani forcibly took the victim to her room and raped her.

Meanwhile, sensing victim's husband came in the house Sani tried to escape. At that time, victim's husband caught Sani red-handed and informed the matter to police immediately. Later, Police arrested Sani, said family members.

Palash police station officer in charge Mohammad Elias confirmed the matter.

A case has been filed in this regard under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act, he added.
