Jamalpur correspondent of Banglanews24.com Golam Rabbani Nadeem was attacked by miscreants and seriously injured in Pathati area in Bakshiganj of Jamalpur Wednesday (June 14) night.

According to Nadeem's colleagues, miscreants attacked Nadeem in Pathati area on his way back home after work. They left Nadeem unconscious and ran away.

Nadeem's wife Monira Begum claimed that Sadhurpara union parishad Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu's men attacked Nadeem and seriously injured him. She demanded exemplary punishment for this incident.

Bakshiganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Sohel Rana said that the police went to the hospital after receiving information about the incident. 

However, as Nadeem was unconscious, the identity of the attackers could not be ascertained yet, he added.  

The OC said that the police have started a search to identify the attackers.
