A Gopalganj court on Monday (July 10) sentenced three persons to death along with Tk 5 thousand fine each for killing one Lutfur Mollah in the district. 

Judge Maksudur Rahman of the Additional Sessions Judge Court passed the verdict.

The death row convicts are Md. Mofiz Hawlader, 33, Md. Abdullah Shikder, 19, and Sajedul Islam, 23.

According to the case statement, Lutfur was murdered on October 7, 2021, on his way home after finishing work from Charkushli village.  

However, after the incident deceased son Sajib Mollah filed a case with Tungipara police station. Later, the police while investigating found the involvement of the three persons in the murder, reads case statement.

On November 30, 2021, the accused accepted their involvement in Lutfur's murder.
