Four Pirojpur war criminals sentenced to death

The International Crimes Tribunal today (July 20) sentenced four war criminals to death for crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971 in Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur.

The three-member ICT-1 panel headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam announced the verdict this morning.

The condemned convicts are Abdul Mannan Howlader, Ashraf Ali alias Asrab Ali Howlader, Md Moharaj Howlader alias Hatkata Moharaj and Md Nurul Amin Howlader. Among them, Md Nurul Amin Howlader is on the run.

All four were activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and joined local Razakar Bahini as the war began in 1971. They actively participated and committed heinous crimes including crimes against humanity.
