Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium met Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on the sidelines of an event at the United Nations headquarters in New York today (Sep 23).

Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva also held separate meetings with Prof Yunus at the UN.

Prof Yunus arrived in New York earlier in the day to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). 

He reached John F Kennedy International Airport at 3:00 pm (local time) on a commercial Emirates Airlines flight, accompanied by his entourage.
