PABNA: Two devotees were killed in a road accident in the Naodapara area of Dasuria Union under Ishwardi Upazila of the district on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Kalam, 45, a trader and son of Madan Karigor from Dasuria College area and Dipu, 27, son of one Bega Mia, resident of Charmirkamari village of the upazila.

Witnesses said watching many people at a place, a truck driver thought them as picketers and started driving rashly to escape from them.

During the time, while going to listen to ‘Sermon on Islam’, Dipu and Kalam were ran over by the rashly driven truck and died on the spot at around 9:30pm.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Thana Biman Kumar Das told banglanews that police chased the truck but it escaped.
