At least four people, including a child, were killed and two others injured after a bus hit a CNG-run autorickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Monday (August 21).
The accident took place around 12.30pm in Sohagpur Bus Stand area of the upazila.
Of the deceased, two were identified as Md Sohel Miah, 27, son of Farid Miah, and Md Jilani, 8, son of Nazmul Miah. Both hailed from Baroibari village under Sarail upazila.
Identities of others could not be known immediately, said Khantihata Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Akul Chandra Bishwas.
He said the a speeding Dhaka-bound bus rammed into a stationary CNG-run autorickshaw as its driver lost control over the steering of the vehicle, leaving three dead on the spot and three other passengers critically injured.
The injured were taken to Barhmanbaria Sadar Hospital where one succumbed to his injuries, he said.
Action in this regard is under process, the OC added.
