As allegations of charging excessive tuition fees in the country's private educational institutions have been raised, the government has decided to address the issue.
The Ministry of Education has decided to introduce an integrated policy to keep the tuition fees in private schools and colleges affordable.
According to a ministry source, a meeting will be held on August 31 to review the draft policy regarding the tuition fees of private educational institutions under the Secondary & Higher Education Division.
The meeting will be held at the International Mother Language Institute with additional secretary of the directorate (Secondary-2) Rabiul Islam in the chair.
Besides, officials concerned with the division and directorate, and school inspectors under Dhaka Board will attend the meeting.
The authorities concerned said that institution-wise tuition fees will be determined according to the policy and it will be implemented from the next academic year.
There are reports that various private educational institutions in Bangladesh impose hiked fees, which ultimately put a strain on the students and parents.
