At least two shops were burnt in capital’s Nazira Bazar of old town on Friday (Sep 1).

Fire service media officer Anwarul Islam Dolan confirmed the matter.

He said fire service department got information that at 11:27 am a fire broke out at Nazira Bazar. Later, two fire service units rushed into the scene and doused the fire at 11:40 am. 

The fire is initially believed to be caused by an electrical fault. The fire caused a loss of approximately Tk one lakh, he said, adding no casualties were reported.
